Print Pricing Update July 1, 2015

5.28.15BLOG > What's New

For the first time in 10 years, we will be adjusting our Print pricing on July 1, 2015. Our main goal with these updates is to simplify the pricing structure, allowing you to quickly and easily determine the cost of Prints without a complicated pricing calculator. Another benefit is decreasing prices for many smaller Print sizes including 4×6, 5×7, 8×10 and more. These changes will not affect Miller’s Sports & Events and Schools divisions.

It is of utmost importance to our business philosophy to be transparent and open with this change. Yes, some prices have increased, and as a business, we understand the importance of providing customers a quality service at a reasonable price. Over the last 15 years, our shipping costs have tripled while our pricing has remained constant. We have carefully examined our print volume over the course of the last 8 months and arrived at a new structure that will counteract the rising cost of shipping large goods, particularly large Prints. With this new pricing model, your average order will cost slightly less than previous years. Instead of applying different minimum order charges based on product category, we now have a universal $15 minimum for all products. Thrift & Ambassador pricing will be eliminated so color correction is available as a free service. Color correction will also be available as a free option for Proofs. The health of your business is always our top priority.

Miller’s Professional Imaging has remained the premier print lab in the business for over 50 years because we have continuously altered our business model to serve the modern photographer. We are the only lab in the industry that offers free overnight shipping and we are fully committed to continuing our tradition of excellent service.  If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact customer service by phone at 1-800-835-0603 or by email at custserv@millerslab.com.

Robert Brant says:

Will the pricing on Mount & Spray be changed? Also, how about LayFlat press books and other press products?

Miller's Support says:

Hi Robert, the Mount & Spray service will not be affected by our price change. This pricing change will not apply to any press products, only photographic Prints. Thanks for reaching out to us!

Mary Lyons says:

Are these new prices for ambassador or thrift?

Miller's Support says:

Hi Mary, the new pricing structure will eliminate Ambassador and Thrift pricing. Color-correction will be available free of charge. Thanks for reaching out to us!

Keith Clark says:

Having been with Millers for over decade, I have always appreciated their ability to adjust to changing times. I remember when other labs scoffed at adapting to digital photography. Most of those giant labs are gone now. I also remember when Millers would not accept new clients in order to maintain good customer service with the clients they already had. Just saying to the many new photographers out there, Miller’s is a good long term partner. Some of us older photographers know the difference.

Will the fine art/wall art product prices and the press products and books also increase? Thanks.

Miller's Support says:

Hi Russell, this will only affect photographic Prints. Fine Art, Wall Art, Press and Books will not increase. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.

Miller's Support says:

Keith, thank you so much for the heartfelt words. We cannot even begin to tell you how grateful we are to work with such amazing people. Because of customers like you, we continue to reach new photographers and experience continued growth. Thanks so much.

Josh says:

Can we have Deep Matte now?

M. Hamsley says:

Will the price changes or minimum have an effect on proof pricing for 4×6, 5×7 proofs in color or bxw? Thanks for the update. As someone said earlier you have always been a key to any photographer’s success both during film days and now in digital/press times.

Miller's Support says:

The $15 minimum will apply to proof pricing and we will also be lowering our current proof pricing. We will make that new pricing preview available later this week. Thank you for the kind words and taking time to reach out to us.

Miller's Support says:

We are still working on Deep Matte, Josh. Thanks for checking back with us!

Art says:

Will there still be a special price for 48 wallets?

Miller's Support says:

Hi Art, the special for wallets will be eliminated with the new pricing update. Thank you for reaching out to us!

Garland says:

Just want to make sure it’s not a typo, but the new cost of a 16×20 studio color corrected is 23.99?

I have only been with Millers a short time and I have enjoyed working with them. To order prints I am going to have to find somewhere else to use. With an increase that would either double or be as much as $10 a print more I can not justifying using Millers. Maybe if I had a strong client base but for just starting out it will not work. Thanks for the service.

Miller's Support says:

Hello Garland, that is correct, the new cost of a 16×20 is 23.99.

Miller's Support says:

Hello Adam, we greatly appreciate your service. Just as a reminder, many of the most popular sizes such as 5×7 and 8×10 will be reduced drastically. If you have further questions about our new pricing structure, we’d love to clear up any confusion you have. Shoot us an email at custserv@millerslab.com or give us a call.

Emliy McElfresh says:

Will add-ons item prices change? Foil stamp, surface modification etc? Working on my price list and want to understand before I type it up and print.

Miller's Support says:

Hi Emily, add on items will remain the same as they are currently. Thank you!

LIVS LENS says:

And shipping will still be free?

Miller's Support says:

Correct, everything will still ship for free via FedEx overnight delivery.

sam says:

I’m a bit confused. I just looked up prices for a 5×7 and 8×10 in school prints and the costs were $0.50 and $1.00 respectively. You indicate that popular sized prints will drop drastically. However, according to the price list a 5×7 and 8×10 will increase to $1.64 and $2.99 respectively. Am I missing something?

Miller's Support says:

Hello Sam, I will email you to clear up some of the confusion. Thank you for reaching out to us!

Totally understandable! appreciate your transparency! I can tell a LOT of thought went into this change. I love Millers and couldn’t imagine going anywhere else, in my opinion; you are the best lab. Thank you for always giving excellent products and top quality service. It’s much appreciated! Maria

Miller's Support says:

Thank you so much for such thoughtful words, we truly have the best customers. You’re awesome, Maria!

Danna says:

Is there a place where I can see current prices and new prices?

Miller's Support says:

Hi Danna, click the link in the blog post to see the new pricing. You can view the current pricing here: http://www.millerslab.com/prints/pricing

George Joell says:

I am a huge fan of Millers Lab and I totally support the new price structure. I would rather Millers adjust their pricing in order to provide us with the best quality and customer service then to struggle and eventually go under. My pricing is such that I can absorb a slight increase in print cost to retain the quality and service I love with Millers. Thank you for keeping us informed and not just raise prices and pray like many photographers do. Bravo to Millers for being the industry standard. I Am Millers!!!

Miller's Support says:

Thanks so much for the kind words, George!

shannon says:

I currently have a saved order in my shopping cart but have not submitted it to be printed/processed. I have other orders to add to it. If I leave this in my shopping cart as is, will the prices just automatically adjust on July 1 without me having to redo my shopping cart with what is currently a saved working order? Thanks.

Miller's Support says:

Hi Shannon, wonderful question. I will shoot you an email with an explanation, but you’ll receive the new pricing.

Norma Rodriguez says:

Can you let me know how much it will be for a 20*30 regular print, please?

Miller's Support says:

Hi Norma, it will be $37.49 with the new pricing. Thanks for reaching out to us!

Rebecca says:

Hello,
Can you please confirm the new wallets price structure? We used to pay 3.53 for 12 wallets of the same image, would that now cost 5.52?

Miller's Support says:

Hi Rebecca, 12 wallets of the same image costs 3.60.

Tracy says:

Will you be issuing a new product catalog with the recent pricing changes?

Miller's Support says:

Hi Tracy, I’ll be emailing you shortly!
