We will be transitioning to UPS shipping from FedEx on January 20th, 2016. This change does not affect our commitment to free overnight shipping or our unrivaled turnaround times โ orders will still ship UPS overnight for free. As you may recall from our Print pricing change last summer, our shipping costs have tripled in the last 15 years and weโve spent many hours researching possible solutions to this challenge. This transistion allows us to continue providing free overnight shipping without raising prices in other areas of our service. One primary goal with this change is to offer you the ability to personalize your account preferences and provide more frequent shipping updates than we have ever offered before. With UPS My Choice, you can setup email/ text delivery alerts, tracking, rerouting and more.
As your business partner, it is essential that we openly address this change with you before it goes into effect. We are continuously exploring different avenues to improve our service to you and this change is the result of months of research and analysis. Millerโs is committed to helping your photography business flourish and we are confident that this change will make your life easier. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact customer service by phone at 1-800-835-0603 or by email at custserv@millerslab.com.

I understand and appreciate your drive to keep costs down, but please beware that UPS service here is not as good as Fedex. Packages are often late due to rerouting by UPS, often arrive crushed and are always covered in gray dust. I hope the photos will not be damaged enroute.
Hi Art, we will closely monitor our service to make sure our service is not affected by this change. We truly appreciate your feedback.
Will the Drop Shipping prices be affected by this? Thanks!
Just as Art said, UPS is not as reliable as FedEx in my area. It also comes much later in the day, which is often a problem. I’m not looking forward to the change.
Hi Tara, Drop Shipping costs will not be affected. Thanks for reaching out!
We appreciate your feedback, Dave. We will closely monitor this service and welcome all feedback with the transition.
I agree with ART same thing here in Florida, UPS are not as caring as FEDEX. They just dropped my package crushed (most of the time) and takes a day or two from the promised delivery date. Hope it will not change the time frame at all.
We have been working with them very closely to assure that items will arrive overnight, same as always. If you have any issues with an order being damaged or arriving later than usual, please let us know. Thanks for reaching out to us, Lady.
Thanks so much! Your customer service is always topnotch!!!!
We have excellent UPS service in our area as long as it is not rerouted to the USPS. Thank you so much!
I too am very concerned and disappointed. I first started with you guys Millers @ December of last year and have been literally THRILLED with your service and how I have NEVER EVER had to worry about the drop shipments to my customers arriving late, nor damaged, nor mishandled in any fashion. I do not like the experience I have had directly with UPS either as others have pointed out. I have had so many problems with packages to my customers and YES, the disgusting dark gray dust covers all of UPS packages – it does not make for a neat impression. UPS uses the very same trucks for both Ground and Express packages and that’s where the dirt comes in -while FedEx uses dedicated smaller “clean” vans for Express packages. One of the best things about giving my business to you was that once I sent an order to print, I knew I had no worries, no need to “babysit” the order – total confidence in the delivery system – but now I will be biting my fingernails with UPS. Not happy to start 2016 hearing this.
Sorry meant to say December of 2014 – still getting used to the new year so I have been working with you guys for over a year now – just needed to clarify ๐ Thanks.
Hello Lourdes, we appreciate your feedback and can assure you that we would never make this transition if we thought it would negatively impact your business. We have worked closely with UPS to ensure that our deliveries will arrive on time and unharmed. Please continue to give us feedback once the transition has been made as we monitor this change.
And UPS is never as good as Fed Ex here, either, but low prices are. We love Fed Ex, but love Millers more.
I’ve had a shipment send USPS priority mail according the order history. I needed it tonight and have nothing from the PS. I found out a few minutes after you closed. I’ve grown to trust your reliability and didn’t leave enough time before the scheduled delivery. Is this something that happened on purpose? Can you tell me what the status is? Email isn’t responding and I want to to know what to tell my client in an hour. Thanks!
Not a UPS fan here at all. I’m sure you’re trying to minimize costs but quality of service varies considerably in some areas so your decision is not what I wanted to see. Hopefully this change will be short lived
I feel the same as all the others that have commented. I am in CT and UPS has been a disappointment time and time again. Never had an issue with Fedex.
I am also concerned about reroute via USPS. Will we be seeing this with UPS? I love the reliability of FedEx and one day shipping is the reason I use you guys.
As a business we certainly understand this choice but I do share these same concerns. UPS package condition is poor here. However you do a good job packaging the photos and that makes a big difference. Remaining optimistic ๐
I am disgusted to hear this. We DEPEND on Millers for quality work and next day turnaround. Reliable early next morning delivery is the primary reason we’ve used Millers exclusively for years. FedEx Express delivers our prints to us early the next morning, and we’re able to deliver that day. The FedEx driver is always on time and extremely friendly. UPS in this area is HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE! Even if next day service is still used, we won’t be receiving our orders from UPS until very late the next day, making it impossible to deliver to clients that day. UPS is also infamous for “delivery exceptions” which require us to travel 20 miles to pick up our packages from rude and unhelpful UPS staff if we need them that day.
Sadly, if UPS is our only option for delivery, we’ll be forced to change how we’ve operated since inception, or find a lab that will provide us with a reliable and quality shipment option.
Hi Marit, we will be in touch with you shortly.
Hi Glenn, we appreciate your feedback and we strongly believe this will not affect our service to you.
Hi Brian, we appreciate your feedback. Please continue to let us know how this transition is working for your business after the change has been active.
Hi Rachel, this transition will not affect our one day shipping.
Hi Sandy, we appreciate your optimism. We are very confident that this will not affect our turnaround times or package conditions.
You said you spent months researching and analyzing, but maybe you should have asked your customers first before making such a change. Miller’s is already one of the more expensive labs in the country, but I’ve always been willing to pay the extra for the great service. Virtually all other labs use the less reliable UPS, but Miller’s was different. Now you’ll be the same as the rest, and your customers will be the ones to suffer.
I’d think that you’d want to strive to be different, not the same.
Before Millers we used a vendor that delivered via UPS and we changed to Millers because of the quality delivery service. With UPS, consistently packages were late, boxes dented and product destroyed. We are very disappointed and wish the financial cuts could have been made some other way. This decision affects how we do business and we will be looking for another alternative. So sad.
Hello, you said USPS handling UPS packages will not affect one day shipping; is this to say that UPS will indeed be transferring packages to USPS?
Thank you for a quick resolution. Once again your customer service shines! I’m confident that any errors caused by UPS will receive comparable resolutions. Thank you! You have my vote of confidence!!
Hello David, we appreciate your feedback and ask that you keep us informed with how this transition works for your business. We have worked closely with UPS and feel confident that this change will have no impact on our turnaround times.
Shipments will be handled by UPS Overnight delivery. If you have a note on your account to be handled by USPS, that will continue. We anticipate this transition to have no impact on turnaround times.
Hello RC Media Services, we do not anticipate this change to have any effect on our turnaround or the condition of your orders. If you do experience issues with orders being damages or arriving late, please notify us and we will handle these accordingly.
Hello Dave, we appreciate your feedback regarding this transition. We have made many changes throughout our 70 years of business and each one of those decisions has led us to where we are today. We have worked closely with UPS and we are very confident that this transition will have no affect on our turnaround times or the condition of your orders. If you ever run into any issues, please notify us and we will handle any issues that arise.
I was curious if Millers did a test run sending packages via UPS? My test run (using another lab) with UPS lasted 2 years and it was consistently disappointing. Even when I received the accordion books the glue gave way because of the fluctuating temperatures. After sending back 20+ books and receiving minimum dozen crushed boxes I switched to Millers. Not to mention the delivery times are never consistent. So bummed.
I really LOVE you guys! I completely understand trying to keep the pricing down and I sincerely HOPE that UPS does as amazing a job as fedex – I will mention another benefit to Fedex (which was why I consistently used Millers in past) was the ability to ship straight to the Fedex location in our area if I wasn’t sure I’d be in studio to receive packages – actually I ALWAYS had them shipped there and Fedex will hold packages for you for a few days. This was a huge perk! Additionally when shipping out of UPS/FEDEX – Fedex hours are just awesome and open really late whereas UPS closes in our city around 6pm. I’m assuming UPS has a separate overnight service than the ground which may be different and impact some of the negative comments above… but I have actually had a nice experience with our drivers of both. Fedex just seems to have consistent delivery times, early AM, and offices which have a lot of great services.
Hi Natalie, we truly appreciate your feedback. Please keep us informed with how this transition works for your business.
Ah, yes. I forgot that one. I occasionally also have FedEx hold my packages at the FedEx Office just a block away. The UPS warehouse is 25 miles away, and is an absolute nightmare to deal with.
I will wait and see how this effects but like the others i’ve had nothing but bad luck with UPS and have decided not to order through other vendors because of it. I’d honestly rather pay a small shipping fee, or absorb costs elsewhere, to know my packages will be handled well and timely. UPS has left several packages of mine in the snow when walking two steps to place under the protection of the overhang was apparently too much effort. I’ve had several things ruined by UPS careless delivery. ๐ I hope this will not be your experience but I do encourage you to indeed watch the feedback carefully because in many places UPS is just awful.
I too am very concerned about the change to UPS. In the past month, UPS has mis-delivered and lost two of my packages containing over $600 worth of product. The second time I even called my local dispatch center to give the driver a detailed description of my location, and they still delivered to the wrong address. I trust FedEx with my important deliveries, and I am disappointed by the change.
UPS SUCKS! They are always late. When they do deliver its at like 8pm in the evening. And their office even opens late. I was so disppointed when I read that you are switching to such a crappy mail service USPS Delivers better than UPS. FED EX is the best service.
PLEASE READ YOUR FAITHFUL CUSTOMERS COMMENTS AND OPINIONS ON UPS. WE ARE THE ONES THAT BRING YOU BUSINESS. UPS IS NOT THE WAY TO GO. DELIVERY SERVICES MATTER ALLOT TO US PHOTOGRAPHERS, AND ALSO EFFECT THE LABS WE CHOOSE.
Thanks for the news… UPS has been the only reliable option where I live and I appreciate that we have been able to use them.
Does UPS offer Saturday delivery in New York?
UPS in our area uses a Run, toss, and run approach, even in a downpour – I have a side entrance that has a covered porch – if they take it to that door(usually they don’t) it winds up sitting on the first or second step, not under the shelter. We’ll see, but not optimistic!
Hi Bob, we appreciate your feedback and we will work diligently to make sure this change has minimal impact on your business.
We can deliver on Saturdays for an additional fee.
We are glad to hear that, Brooke!
We appreciate your feedback Olivia, we will work diligently to make sure this is a smooth transition for your business. If you have any issues with your packages, don’t hesitate to notify us or your local UPS office.
Hello Noel, we appreciate your feedback regarding this transition. We will monitor this closely and we ask that you provide us continued feedback regarding how this change affects your day to day business.
We appreciate your feedback, Samantha. I can assure you we are monitoring this feedback closely and ask that you give us updates with how this transition impacts your day to day business.
